About the Brand & its Early Years, Ownership, Business etc!
Burger King today has come up as a significant brand image, which originated from an American global chain of fast food, mainly hamburger. The company is now headquartered in Miami-Dade County, Florida and it was founded in the year 1953. Initially, its overall concept revolved around the word “insta”. The inspiration came from our very own McDonald’s, which highly compelled Keith Kramer and his soul partner, his wife’s uncle named Matthew Burns. One fine day when Matthew Burns visited a small yet famous store in San Bernardino he was blown away with the concept of instant burgers, shakes and fries preparation that was done within a record time. He observed everything from McDonald’s and later on planned to buy his own newfangled or insta broiler. This broiler could easily make 12 patties at once and this is how Keith Kramer and Matthew Burns began “Insta-Burger King”.

However, fate was not with them at all! The company and its services failed terribly and it ran into numerous financial complications in the year 1954. But luckily, it had 2 Miami based franchises that were the god’s gift to them. James McLamore and David Edgerton purchased the whole organization and renamed it “Burger King”. However again, the company experienced a lot of changes as it went on into various hands again and again.
Its next set of owners were a complete partnership that contained Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, Bain Capital, and TPG Capital who took it for the public in the year 2002. Again in the year 2010, the game changed. Brazil’s 3G capital entered and had a huge stake in the company’s organization. Now, 3G and its partner Berkshire Hathaway tried to restructure the company and thus, they brought In a doughnut chain to partner with the same. Thus, now the brand sits under a great Canadian based parent organization named Restaurant Brands International.
Thus, even after so many complications and ownership changes, the company yet proved its ability to outshine the world market with its exceptional food, phenomenal taste, and never-ending quality. The people who came up with the idea can never be forgotten for sure, however, the whole change that Burger King actually experienced was after the entry of James McLamore and David Edgerton. These two have definitely changed the fate of the company. Now the company is successfully operating under Restaurant Brands International.
